Learn how XSHAlloy supplies alloy plates from melting and rolling to heat treatment, inspection, cutting and international delivery. Custom sizes available.
For
alloy plate applications in chemical processing, oil and gas, power generation, marine engineering, and other demanding industries, material consistency and quality control are important from the beginning of production. At XSHAlloy, we work with customers on alloy plate supply based on specified grades, dimensions, standards, surface conditions, and inspection requirements.
Our general alloy plate production process follows:
Raw Material → Melting → Refining → Casting → Hot Rolling → Heat Treatment → Cold Rolling → Surface Treatment → Cutting → Inspection → Packing
Raw Material
Production starts with carefully selected raw materials according to the required alloy grade. Elements such as nickel, chromium, molybdenum, iron, titanium, and other alloying elements are controlled according to the applicable material specification.
For XSHAlloy orders, the required grade, chemical composition, standard, dimensions, and application requirements are confirmed before production or sourcing.
Melting and Refining
The prepared raw materials are melted and refined to obtain the required chemical composition and material cleanliness.
For different alloy systems, the melting and refining route can vary. The production process is selected according to the material grade and technical requirements rather than using one process for every alloy.
Casting
After melting and refining, the molten alloy is cast into an ingot or slab for subsequent processing.
The casting stage provides the starting material for rolling, while process control helps support consistent composition and internal quality.
Hot Rolling
The cast material is heated and processed through hot rolling to reduce its thickness and develop the required plate dimensions and material structure.
Rolling parameters are controlled according to the alloy grade and required product condition. This stage is particularly important for achieving the specified thickness and plate shape.
Heat Treatment
Heat treatment is selected according to the alloy and final delivery condition.
Depending on the material, processes such as solution annealing, annealing, aging, or other specified treatments may be required. The purpose is to obtain the required metallurgical condition and mechanical properties.
Cold Rolling
For thinner alloy plates or applications requiring tighter dimensional control and improved surface quality, cold rolling may be used after suitable intermediate treatment.
Not every alloy plate requires cold rolling. The process depends on the material grade, thickness, tolerance, and final application.
Surface Treatment
After rolling and heat treatment, the plate can be processed according to the required surface condition.
Depending on the product, available options may include pickling, grinding, polishing, or other surface treatments. Surface requirements are confirmed according to the customer's specification before production.
Cutting
XSHAlloy supports customized alloy plate dimensions according to customer requirements.
Plates can be supplied in standard sizes or processed into specified lengths and widths. Cutting and machining requirements can also be discussed for projects requiring further fabrication.
Inspection
Quality inspection is an important part of alloy plate supply.
Depending on the order requirements, inspection can cover:
Chemical composition
Tensile strength and yield strength
Elongation
Hardness
Dimensions and thickness
Surface condition
Ultrasonic testing when required
Material Test Certificates (MTC) can be provided according to the applicable requirements, including EN 10204 3.1/3.2 where specified.
Packing and Delivery
After final inspection, alloy plates are properly packed for international transportation. Packaging is selected according to the product dimensions, weight, surface condition, and transportation requirements.
As a China-based alloy supplier, XSHAlloy also supports export orders with services including custom sizes, cutting, surface treatment, inspection documentation, samples, and international shipping arrangements.
The production of an alloy plate is not only about reaching a specified thickness. Material grade, chemical composition, heat treatment, dimensional tolerance, surface condition, inspection, and delivery requirements all need to be considered together.
XSHAlloy supplies alloy plates for different industrial applications and works with customers to confirm the appropriate grade, specification, dimensions, inspection requirements, and delivery conditions before order fulfillment.
